This is an annual event that I haven’t been able to attend until now. It’s on my favorite lake in Minnesota, Gull Lake. It’s something you have to experience yourself to truly appreciate. Truth be told, most people go up there to drink and don’t go to the fishing tournament – yet still there are nearly 20,000 people on the ice trying to catch fish. That means there are tens of thousands of people just sitting inside the warmth of their lake cabins playing drinking games, playing cards, and watching hockey.
Here is some drone video footage of this years event, which will be followed by some photos from my experience up there. Big shout to Nate Kirschner for hosting this annual event!
